In our weekly Corazón Latinx after school youth group, middle school youths work with college student mentors and community volunteers in effort to provide creative activities, promote leadership skills, creative self-expression, academic and college readiness, and Latino cultural appreciation. Last year four Corazon Latino students graduated Richmond High School with honors and are now attending college.
This youth mentoring and empowering program meets every Wednesday at Test Intermediate School. From 3:45 to 5:00 PM students ages 10-15 get to explore and learn a country’s culture and customs through activities, presentations, and games while enjoying a healthy snack.
